August 2015 TransportsOn August 15th we ran our first transport in 2 months. Fear of canine influenza in the Atlanta area had us in a holding pattern to avoid the possibility of transporting dogs potentially infected with the virus to our northeast partners. Sweet Bernadette pictured below went through the wringer when she contracted canine influenza while being treated for heart worms! Bernadette was a real trouper and is once again happy, healthy and ready to find her forever family! We are happy to report that 8 of the 40 dogs had pre-approved adopters waiting to adopt them when they arrived! Click on Bernadette’s photo to see all of the dogs that FODA vetted and transported on August 15th. If you would like to help FODA continue saving the lives of animals in need in the Metro Atlanta area, consider a one time donation or a monthly recurring donation.
